SWISS Appoints Benedikt Escher as New Head of Network Management

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has appointed Benedikt Escher as its new head of network management. Escher brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as head of scheduling and slot management at SWISS and spent five years leading network planning and development at Edelweiss Air.

Escher's appointment was praised by SWISS CCO Tamur Goudarzi Pour, who highlighted his skills and experience in news management. Escher will report to both Pour and Lufthansa group SVP network and mobility officer Heiko Reitz. He succeeds Michael Trestl, who moved to Austrian Airlines earlier this year to take up the position of chief commercial officer.

Escher's new role will involve overseeing SWISS's extensive network, which includes the US as its largest international market with routes to major cities like San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Newark. In January 2021 alone, SWISS offered over 184,000 scheduled departure seats.

Benedikt Escher's appointment as head of network management at SWISS reflects his proven expertise in the field. His experience at both SWISS and Edelweiss Air makes him well-equipped to manage the airline's expansive network, including its key US routes. Under his leadership, SWISS's network is expected to continue serving its passengers effectively and efficiently.
