Tata Motors Achieves Milestone of 25,000 Public Charging Stations for Electric Small Commercial Vehicles

Tata Motors, a leading name in India's automotive industry, has reached a significant milestone in its commitment to electric cargo mobility. Pinaki Haldar, Vice President & Business Head - SCVPU at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, announced that crossing the 25,000 public charging station mark is a pivotal milestone in their mission to advance electric cargo mobility and its enabling ecosystem.

To support this growth, Tata Motors has established over 200 EV support centres across the country. These charging stations are strategically located at key logistics hubs in more than 150 cities, including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

In a bid to strengthen its position in India's rapidly evolving EV market, Tata Motors has announced plans to invest up to Rs350bn ($4.1bn) over the next five years. This investment will be used to expand its current vehicle lineup and bolster its position in the market.

Tata Motors is also collaborating with various charging point operators (CPOs) to install an additional 25,000 public charging stations for electric light commercial vehicles across India over the next twelve months. The list of CPOs that have signed MoUs with Tata Motors includes A Plus Charge, Ampvolts, chargeMOD, Charge Zone, Electric Fuel, Envo The Sustainer, EV Spot Charge, Kazam, Nikol EV, Sonik Mobility, Thunderplus Solutions, Volttic, and Zeon Electric.

The expansion of these charging points is expected to enhance operational efficiency and earnings of last-mile delivery operators. Tata Motors is dedicated to building a robust support network for electric cargo mobility, and this network is set to grow further with the addition of these new charging stations.

In addition to this, Tata Motors' Fleet Edge platform will integrate the charging station locations for customer convenience. This move is aimed at providing a seamless experience for users of Tata Motors' electric vehicles.

Moreover, Tata Motors has entered into agreements with 13 charging point operators (CPOs) through memorandums of understanding (MoUs). By doing so, the company is aiming to enable profitable, zero-emission logistics for entrepreneurs and transporters across the country.

Tata Motors' achievements in the electric vehicle sector have not gone unnoticed. The company has been recognised in the Just Auto Excellence Awards, an event that celebrates innovation, leadership, and impact in the automotive industry. By participating in these awards, businesses can showcase their achievements, elevate their industry profile, and position themselves among top leaders driving automotive industry advancements.

In conclusion, Tata Motors' commitment to electric cargo mobility is evident in its achievements so far.
