Tesla Diner Scales Down Offerings Due to Increasing Popularity
Tesla Diner Streamlines Menu in Response to High Demand
The Tesla Diner, an innovative dining experience located in Hollywood, California, has undergone a significant transformation. Operated by automaker Tesla, the diner has recently reduced its menu offerings due to "unprecedented demand," according to reports.
Upon its opening in July 2025, the Tesla Diner provided a broad nostalgic menu of American classics with a futuristic twist. The initial offerings included a variety of sandwiches, sides, vegan options, breakfast items, and drinks. Notable dishes included the Tesla Burger, crinkle-cut fries, vegan chili fries, and milkshakes made with plant-based oat milk.
However, recent changes have led to a dramatic menu reduction. The menu now consists of five sandwiches, two sides, and two pie flavors. Several plant-based options, such as the vegan burger, have been removed, and all-day breakfast items like biscuits and gravy are now only available in the mornings.
The diner, overseen by Tesla's head of design, Franz von Holzhausen, operates from 6 a.m. to midnight, contrary to earlier claims that it would be open 24/7. It's important to note that the diner now appears to restrict charging and services to Tesla owners only.
Tesla Diner chef Eric Greenspan has promised Easter eggs and did not rule out specials, such as the return of soft serve ice cream and biscuits. The diner's unique features include ordering from the Tesla touchscreen or mobile app, and the Cybertruck-themed packaging for the food.
The Tesla Diner also offers a drive-in movie experience on giant outdoor screens, adding to its retro-futuristic theme. The diner was first proposed by CEO Elon Musk in 2018 and is operated by restaurateur Bill Chait. Despite the menu changes, the Tesla Diner continues to blend dining with EV charging, providing a unique experience for Tesla owners and visitors alike.
