The electric vehicle landscape is set for a shakeup as Tesla prepares to unveil several new models in 2025. Here's a rundown of the upcoming introductions from the Silicon Valley giant.

Starting with the Model Y, Tesla's popular SUV, the 2025 refresh, codenamed Juniper, has already begun deliveries in China and North America, with the US, Canada, and Mexico releases scheduled for March. This update brings design changes such as a full-width light bar, a rear-seat passenger touchscreen, powered rear seats, improved suspension, and a return of the traditional turn signal stalk. The long-range version's range has increased to approximately 447 miles, while the top speed has been slightly reduced.

In addition to the standard Model Y Juniper, Tesla is also planning to introduce a Performance variant, featuring stronger acceleration, sportier suspension, grippier tires, and sport seats. This model is currently in testing and is expected to be released before the end of 2025.

The long-wheelbase Model Y L is another addition to the Model Y lineup, with first deliveries in China confirmed for September 2025. US production for the Model Y L is expected only towards the end of 2026. This extended wheelbase version will offer a six-seat layout, more cargo and passenger space, making it an ideal choice for families.

Beyond the Model Y, Tesla’s other notable new electric vehicle planned for 2025 is the Tesla Roadster, a high-performance sports car with claimed 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds and a 620-mile range. The Roadster’s launch has been delayed multiple times, but 2025 is now considered a likely release window.

Tesla is also making strides in autonomous driving with the Cybercab, an autonomous taxi intended for mass production in 2026. To address navigation challenges, the Cybercab uses a modified joystick for control.

In other news, Tesla Insurance Ltd (Germany Branch) appeared in the German commercial register in early 2022 but has since ceased all business operations.

Lastly, Tesla is building a team for remote control of cars and robots, as revealed in a recent job posting. The company is also seeking C++ software developers for the "Teleoperation" area, which will facilitate remote control through a state-of-the-art virtual reality system.

Here's a summary of the upcoming Tesla introductions in early to mid-2025 timeframe:

| Vehicle Model | Status and Timeline | Key Features | |-------------------------|----------------------------------------|---------------------------------------------| | Model Y "Juniper" (2025 refresh) | Delivered in China & North America starting March 2025 | Full-width light bars, rear passenger touchscreen, longer range (447 mi), updated interior | | Model Y L (long wheelbase) | Deliveries start September 2025 in China; US production late 2026 | Extended wheelbase, six-seat layout, more cargo and passenger space | | Model Y Performance | Testing, expected release before end of 2025 | Sportier suspension, better acceleration, sport seats | | Tesla Roadster | Expected launch in 2025 (delayed from earlier targets) | Supercar acceleration, 620-mile range, 4 seats with hardtop |

Tesla's foray into the realm of finance is also visible with the establishment of Tesla Insurance Ltd (Germany Branch) in early 2022, though it has recently halted its operations.

In the realm of technology, Tesla is progressing significantly with the development of their autonomous driving vehicle, the Cybercab, set for mass production in 2026. Additionally, the company is building a team for remote control of cars and robots, utilizing cutting-edge virtual reality systems.
