Tokenization of Real-World Assets Anticipated to Reach a Valuation of $30 Trillion by 2030, Suggests New Study

Tokenization of Real-World Assets could potentially amass $30 trillion by the year 2030, according to an exclusive report.

The Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization market is experiencing a significant transformation, with projections indicating it could reach between $2-4 trillion by 2030, and the most ambitious forecasts suggesting it could reach an astonishing $30 trillion by 2034.

This burgeoning ecosystem has witnessed explosive growth, expanding from just $85 million in 2020 to a staggering $30 billion by mid-2025, representing a remarkable 400% growth in just three years.

One of the key players in this market is Ondo Finance, which has over $1.3 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL) across multiple blockchain platforms, specializing in tokenized U.S. Treasuries. In the first half of 2025 alone, the RWA market grew approximately 260%, climbing from $8.6 billion to over $23 billion.

Centrifuge, another major player, has achieved $1 billion in TVL, focusing on tokenizing real-world assets like invoices, receivables, and trade finance instruments. Centrifuge V3, described by CEO Bhaji Illuminati as the infrastructure for the next generation of financial markets, has recently partnered with Aave Labs to launch Horizon, increasing RWA liquidity in decentralized finance.

Franklin Templeton's BENJI, a tokenized money market fund, represents $420 million in assets, making it the third-largest tokenized treasury product. BENJI has expanded to eight blockchain platforms, similar to Centrifuge's focus on multiple blockchains.

MakerDAO operates $1.78 billion in RWA vaults, allowing real-world assets to be used as collateral to mint DAI stablecoin. Private credit dominates the RWA market with a 58% market share ($14 billion), followed by U.S. Treasuries at 34% ($8.2 billion).

Chainlink provides critical infrastructure for RWA tokenization through its decentralized oracle network, acquiring 84% of Ethereum's oracle market. Sergey Nazarov, Founder of Chainlink, emphasizes that cryptographic truth is a superior way for the entire world to operate.

The U.S. GENIUS Act has provided clearer frameworks for tokenized asset adoption, allowing major firms to explore tokenization tools. Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, believes the next generation for markets and securities will be tokenization. BlackRock's BUIDL, now available on Ethereum, Solana, Aptos, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, and Polygon, has gained $700 million in new investments over just 11 days, demonstrating strong institutional demand.

Singapore's implementation of CRS 2.0 and Hong Kong's securities issuance guidelines have further supported global adoption of RWA. Provenance leads RWA projects with $12.5 billion TVL, followed by BlackRock BUIDL at $2.9 billion and MakerDAO RWA vaults at $1.8 billion.

As the RWA tokenization market continues to grow and evolve, it is clear that it will play a significant role in transforming liquidity, ownership, and financial infrastructure for years to come.
