Traffic Accident Allegedly Linked to Suspect Under the Influence of Alcohol (LPI-G)
In the early hours of August 22, 2025, a shocking incident occurred in the city of Gera, Germany. A company truck was driven off the road in the Steinbrücken area, resulting in a collision with a fence and significant damage to both the fence and the vehicle.
The Gera Police Inspectorate, led by Thomas Lenk, has taken up the investigation of the incident. The criminal investigation involves the suspicion of hit-and-run and endangerment of traffic.
According to the reports, the driver of the truck, a 27-year-old individual, was found visibly intoxicated but unharmed, at his residence shortly after the accident. The driver, however, denied being the driver of the truck.
The damage to the fence and the truck is estimated to be several thousand euros.
