Upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 May Feature Dual Chip Strategy for Global Launch

It has been rumored that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will adopt a dual-chip strategy for its release. According to a Korean publication, Hank Yung, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in North America and select international regions, while Samsung's homegrown Exynos 2500 will be utilized for the phone's launch in South Korea.

This approach allows Samsung to leverage its in-house Exynos technology in its home market and take advantage of Qualcomm's chipset's wider acceptance in regions where it is commonly used. It is essential to note that the publication did not specify which other regions would receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Z Flip 7.

While there has been conflicting information regarding the Exynos 2500 chipset in the past, the System LSI Division and Foundry Division of Samsung reportedly achieved performance and yield improvements in the Exynos 2500 this year, as suggested by Hank Yung. In contrast, yield and production issues with the Exynos 2500 component reportedly made it difficult for Samsung to include it in the Galaxy S25 series, which instead received an exclusive version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Additionally, recent leaked animation files from One UI 8 firmware suggest that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 could feature an edge-to-edge cover screen, a design award-winning to premium Motorola Razr models, as opposed to the fold-like shape it currently possesses.

Samsung's next set of foldables is due to launch soon, with a July release date tentatively set. More news and information regarding the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be available as more information about the device becomes available. Furthermore, leaked animation files from One UI 8 firmware hint at a premium design for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, featuring an edge-to-edge cover screen, similar to the design of award-winning Motorola Razr models.
