Updated 3D Tracking Simplified in Mocha Pro 2024.5 version
Mocha Pro, a popular tool for 3D tracking and visual effects (VFX), has unveiled its latest release, Mocha Pro 2024.5. This update introduces a host of new features designed to streamline complex VFX compositing and offer more flexible workflows.
Extended Clean Plates with Mega Plate System
The highlight of this release is the Mega Plate Module. This unique tool uses planar tracking and temporal frame analysis to create extended, stitched frames, often referred to as Mega Plates. This feature allows artists to work on a canvas larger than the raster frame, facilitating advanced VFX tasks such as object removal, clean plating, sky replacements, matte painting, and set extensions.
Streamlined Rotoscoping and Tracking Preparation

Scripting capabilities have been updated to Python 3.0, enhancing automation by increasing compatibility and performance.
Quality of Life Improvements and Enhanced 2D Tracking & Roto Workflow
The new release includes several quality of life improvements and enhancements to the 2D tracking & roto workflow. Notable additions include Preview Motion Blur, which allows viewing Motion Blur on any matte overlay directly in the viewport, and Duplicating Roto Shapes, which can exclude unwanted elements without creating new masks for 3D tracks.
