Have you run into issues with the new open-world game, Hell is Us, on your Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 or RTX 40? If so, fear not! The developers have provided a workaround for those pesky start-up crashes.

Head over to the demo's main menu and dial down your graphics quality settings. Furthermore, turn off all upscaling features, such as DLSS, XeSS, FSR, and more. This temporarily fixes the cinematic intro crashes. Once you've seen the intro and taken control of main character, Rémi, feel free to boost those settings back up.

🚨 Crash Warning: Some players have reported crashes during the Hell is Us demo's intro cinematic, especially for NVIDIA 4000/5000 series cards.

Hell is Us already has a reputation for being a hardware hungry game, despite its September 4, 2025 release date. Even Germany's PCGH.de notes that it "requires at least an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 for 4K/UHD at 30 frames per second." Additionally, they suggest 32GB of system RAM for a smooth experience.
