Video conferencing giant, Zoom, solidifies its place in the tech industry.
Embracing the digital landscape in 2020, people found innovative ways to maintain connections, work remotely, and engage in social interactions through platforms like Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams, among others.
In our Parkinson's community, we hosted over 50 Zoom meetings last year, fostering a sense of community and connection. Our Infoline Nurses, Counsellors, Carer Chats, Young Onset Chats, Support Group Leadership Team meetings, and Post DBS meetings all took place on Zoom. We even collaborated with external organizations like Carers NSW, Continence Foundation, COTA, and Independent Living Specialists on co-hosted Zoom sessions.
Many of our Support Groups organized their own regular Zoom catch-ups to replace face-to-face meetings, and some might consider continuing this trend into 2021 or adopting a hybrid approach to communication and meetings.
This year, Parkinson's NSW will continue our program of Zoom meetings, offering a similar schedule to 2020. Keep an eye out for the upcoming meeting details in our newsletter, InTouch. We eagerly anticipate engaging with you all.
New to Zoom? Give it a try; it's a blast! You can find tutorials on how to use Zoom by visiting our Support Groups Information web page (Support Group Info & Support), then click on 'how to stay in touch via video' to learn more.
Please note that the enrichment data suggests that specific Zoom meeting details for Parkinson's NSW in 2021 are not currently available in search results. For the most accurate and current information, it's best to visit the official Parkinson's NSW website directly.
Support groups in our community have adopted technology to organize regular Zoom catch-ups, serving as a replacement for face-to-face meetings. To stimulate the growth of health-and-wellness discussions and science-based findings in these groups, some might consider continuing the virtual format or adopting a hybrid approach in 2021.
