Wiggers Carpentry Expands, Adds Tech, Eyes More Growth

Wiggers Carpentry, a Northhorn-based business, has expanded its facilities and introduced new technology. The company now boasts 1,100 square meters of production and storage space, along with a 300-square-meter exhibition area. Managing Director Heinz-Jürgen Wiggers showcased these developments to Ingo Niehaus, the economic development officer.

The company, established in 1962, specializes in crafting wooden stairs, parquet floors, and furniture. Despite its traditional focus, Wiggers Carpentry has embraced innovation. It recently acquired a computer-controlled CNC machine for precise material cutting. Currently employing eight people, two of whom are in training, the company plans to grow further.

Wiggers Carpentry has operated from the A31-Nordhorn-Klausheide-Ost industrial area for nine years. It aims to invest significantly in automation and has secured options on additional commercial areas in Klausheide. The company's expansion has been praised by Niehaus, who sees it as an excellent example of the innovative power and growth potential of Northhorn's medium-sized businesses.

Wiggers Carpentry's expansion includes a significant increase in production and storage space, a new exhibition area, and advanced technology. With plans to automate further and hire more staff, the company continues to grow while maintaining its focus on individual craftsmanship.
