In a significant stride towards becoming a global hub for future mobility, Dubai has introduced an AI-powered parking system that promises to revolutionize urban mobility in the emirate. The new system, a collaboration between Salik Company PJSC, Parkonic, and Dubai Holding, is set to improve the parking experience for residents and visitors alike across more than 36,000 on-street and off-street parking spaces in key Dubai communities.

The system, named Parkonic, offers a fully autonomous, ticketless, barrier-free, and contactless parking experience. It utilizes advanced AI technology from Parkonic for real-time monitoring and seamless management, while Salik's payment platform enables instant, automatic, and cashless billing without human intervention or physical tickets.

One of the key benefits of this new system is the frictionless entry and exit with zero manual checks or barrier usage. This streamlines parking time and reduces delays, enhancing the overall parking experience. Real-time AI monitoring prevents overstaying fines and ensures optimal use of parking spaces, further improving efficiency.

The seamless payment integration through Salik allows automated, contactless transactions integrated into Dubai’s broader smart mobility ecosystem. The system also boasts multilingual interfaces, improving accessibility for residents and visitors.

This AI-powered parking system aligns with Dubai's commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon footprint. By optimizing parking utilization and vehicle flow, it supports Dubai’s Net Zero goals through reduced traffic congestion and lower emissions.

The partnership between Parkonic, Salik Company PJSC, and Dubai Holding goes beyond parking and lays the groundwork for AI-driven urban transport services. This new parking system is operated entirely within the UAE and is part of Dubai's push toward connected mobility infrastructure and future-readiness for autonomous vehicles.

In addition, Dubai Holding has entered into a strategic agreement with Parkin, Dubai's leading paid public parking operator, to manage and operate approximately 29,600 paid parking spaces. Imad Alameddine, CEO of Parkonic, stated that the partnership aims to build a future where parking is seamless, intelligent, and user-centric.

This new AI-powered parking system is a significant step forward in Dubai's push toward becoming a smart city and a global hub for future mobility. It is expected to directly support Dubai's Smart City 2030 strategy and Future Mobility Vision, aiming to improve urban mobility, reduce congestion, and decrease carbon emissions.
