WWE Headquarters Receives Powerful Audio Service Provided by OSA

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has partnered with PK Sound, OSA International, and ACT Entertainment to revolutionise its audiovisual experience, creating a sonic powerhouse in its stunning, sunlit atrium.

Located in WWE's new corporate headquarters in Stamford, CT, the atrium is a long, tall, and narrow rectangular space with a massive glass facade on the west side and three stories of open balconies on the east. The PK Sound solution, which includes the T10 robotic line array system, has been designed and installed to overcome the atrium's challenging acoustic environment.

The process began with an acoustic assessment of the space. Advanced acoustic modeling software, such as EASE, was used to simulate sound dispersion, reverberation, and audience coverage. The T10 robotic line array units, featuring motorised elements, were then configured for beam steering, with array length, angle, and positioning adjusted based on the model results.

The main array of the PK Sound system consists of eight T10 robotic line source modules installed above the center of the south video wall. Three T218 intelligent subwoofers are flown behind the main array for ample low-frequency reproduction.

The PK Sound T10 includes robotically controlled elements that allow for dynamic beam steering and pattern control without physically repositioning the speakers. This technology enables fine control over the sound wavefront, allowing focus on audience areas while minimising reflections from hard surfaces typical in atriums.

Digital signal processing manages the audio output in real time, adapting to changing environmental conditions or event requirements. The system offers adaptive directivity, meaning the sound can be steered electronically to compensate for difficult acoustic zones, resulting in more uniform sound pressure levels throughout the space.

Each balcony in the atrium has a high-resolution LED video screen as its fascia. The central LED wall on the south end of the atrium spans four stories, providing a visually stunning backdrop to the immersive sound experience.

The results of the PK Sound solution are reportedly phenomenal, with clean, intelligible, and impactful sound reproduction. The collaboration between WWE, OSA International, PK Sound, and ACT Entertainment has resulted in an audiovisual experience that reinforces WWE's reputation as a global leader in live entertainment.

This approach allows the WWE atrium to host live events with immersive sound coverage, overcoming architectural challenges through the synergy of precise acoustic design, robotic speaker technology, and tailored signal processing. The project is a great example of how PK Sound's technology can enhance the audiovisual experience.

  1. The collaboration between WWE, OSA International, PK Sound, and ACT Entertainment has revolutionized the audiovisual experience at the WWE headquarters, offering an immersive sound experience that elevates the entertainment aspect of lifestyle events held in the atrium.
  2. The partnership has resulted in the implementation of cutting-edge technology, such as the PK Sound T10 robotic line array system, which features dynamic beam steering and pattern control, to offer a superior acoustic experience during sports events and entertainment shows.
  3. Simultaneously, the atrium’s features, including high-resolution LED video screens on each balcony and a visually stunning central LED wall on the south end, complement the immersive sound experience provided by the PK Sound technology, enhancing the overall lifestyle experience for attendees of various events and features.
