Yakutia's Berkaakit Station Modernized for Longer Trains
Yakutia's Berkaakit train station has undergone a significant modernization, enhancing its cargo processing capabilities. The station, a key player in the Far Eastern Railway network, has seen its track capacity boosted to accommodate longer trains. Previously, the station could only handle 56-car trains due to its track layout. Now, following the reconstruction led by Natsprojestroi, it can manage trains up to 71 cars long. This expansion was achieved by laying 4.8 kilometers of new tracks and installing 24 switch points with pneumatic cleaning. Bamstroymechanizatsiya, a part of Natsprojestroi, extended 12 arrival and departure tracks. Mechanizers processed a substantial 20,000 cubic meters of soil and installed a water drainage pipe to extend the embankment. Additionally, the station now features radio communication masts, heating points, and fire reservoirs. The station's traffic management has been upgraded to a digital mode using a microprocessor-based centralization system. This modernization will allow the station to better handle the growing cargo flow to and from Yakutia's railways and back to the RZD network. The modernization of Berkaakit station, completed by Natsprojestroi, has significantly increased its capacity and efficiency. The station, crucial for coal loading from Southern Yakutia's deposits, can now handle longer trains, contributing to the region's economic growth.
