Zelenskyy Urges Global Action Against Russia's Aggression
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for increased global support in his country's ongoing conflict with Russia. Speaking to world leaders, he argued that international law needs robust backing and military aid to be effective.
Zelenskyy noted recent Russian incursions into Poland and Estonia, as well as interference in Moldova, highlighting the need for a united front against aggression. He praised the over 40 countries already part of Ukraine's coalition, but urged more nations to join and step up pressure on Russia.
He warned of potential horrors, including the use of chemical weapons, famine, abduction of Ukrainian children, and attacks on Europe's largest nuclear power plant. Zelenskyy also pointed to conflicts in Sudan, Somalia, and Palestine as evidence of a global system failing to prevent bloodshed or deliver solutions. He cautioned that the current global arms race, now driven by artificial intelligence, is the most destructive in history.
President Zelenskyy concluded by asking nations to speak out and join Ukraine in defending life and international law. He stressed that collective action now is cheaper than building defenses later, as the world faces a growing threat of conflict and instability.
